David M. Young, author and Midway Historian

Dave Young is a former Chicago Tribune aviation writer and author of Fill the Heavens with Commerce: Chicago Aviation, 1855-1926 and Chicago Aviation: An Illustrated History, part of his four-book Chicago transportation history series.

Note: William B. Stout was not only a seminal aviation innovator in Chicago, he designed the venerable Ford Trimotor, arguably the most ubiquitous early airliner in the United States in the 1920s.
